An enthusiast photographer has a hard time choosing the right camera, the excellent Nikon D90 of the new Nikon D5000? The former has been wowing many users since its release with its superior features. But many claim that the D5000 would be better.

Here is the problem of the confused photographer: What would you do, buy the D90 now or wait until May 1 for the D5000? Here are some online reviews that might help you with your problem.

Cloud9: The D90 is definitely better than the D5000. You should grab it now before the price skyrockets. I am warning you, the D90 price is shooting up real fast.

hockey_guy: If the D5000 maintains its $799 selling price, I must say that the D90 features are worth the extra dollars. Additionally, the D90 has the sub command dial feature, which is very important particularly when you shoot manually.

Mark Jacobs: The D5000 has an entry-level camera feel to it while the D90 looks like it is meant for more serious photography enthusiasts. The D5000 is only a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than a D90. Seems to me that the D90 is a lot more camera for a bit more $.

Skatterball: The screen alone is a major plus on the D90 (3″ 920, hi-def video). That says this DSLR is one great purchase.

Happypopeye: The Nikon D5000 is a new camera, so everyone is all hyped up about it. If you need a camera now, get the Nikon D90. But if you do not have to buy one now, be patient, wait for its availability, read reviews, check any problem, and decide wisely a few weeks or a month after the camera is released in the market.

Markinvictoria: I have had my D90 for 2 days now. Reviewing the features of the D5000, I am glad I had the best buy. I am happy with the built in focus motor, commander mode, high resolution LCD, etc.
